Topic:

How to export data recorded using ESCON Studio's "Data Recorder".

Situation:

If you want to ...

• ... save the recorded graphs as a screenshot plus data export,
• ... analyze the data using excel,

this can be done by the "Export Recorded Data" feature of ESCON Studio's "Data Recorder".

Solution:

ESCON Studio's "Data Recorder" can monitor up to 4 parameters in a "Continuous Acquisition" mode or using triggers such as power stage enabled, direction switch, movement trigger, fault, stopped signal, analog signals rising above, rising to value, falling below, falling to value, leaving range and entering range.

In addition to selecting the parameters to record you can select the sampling time with a minimum of 0.187 ms and a maximum of 12255.045 ms.

Please note that the number of recorded samples per channel is ...

• 1024 samples in case of just 1 active channel.
• 512 samples in case of 2 active channels.
• 341 samples in case of 3 active channels.
• 256 samples in case of 4 active channels.

Four activate channels in combination with a long sampling time may not give you a high resolution and can potentially lead to missing relevant data in between the long sampling intervals.

Once the data is recorded and the visual graph shows all the recorded channels you can right-click anywhere on the graph and select the option "Export Recorded Data".

Remark:
In "Continuous Acquisition" mode the recorded data can only be exported if the recording is stopped before.

Once the menu item is "Export Recorded data" is clicked you will get a pop-up dialogue window asking you to name the .zip file as well as select the directory to save the file. The resulting .zip file will contain a screenshot of the recorded data and a .csv file that can be opened using Microsoft Excel.

Keep in mind:

Please always try to provide the *.zip data file in case of a support request and not just screenshots. The data files offer much more flexibility for investigation in details.
