The Support Center offers two different ways to log-in.
- What is the advantage if I am logged-in?
- What is the difference in between "Sign in with Microsoft"
and the direct usage of the e-mail address and password?
Solution:
- Advantages by being logged-in
Even if you can submit a request without being logged in, there are some advantages which are just present in log-in state. If you are logged-in ...
- ... you can check all former activities (e.g. support tickets) raised by your account's e-mail address.
- ... you can update your profile.
- ... your e-mail address is not requested anymore if you submit a request.

- Log-in by a personal Support Center account
It is possible (and commonly in use) to log-in with an e-mail address and a password specially registered for maxon's Support Center. Just type in the e-mail and your personal password of maxon's Support Center.
- Remark 1:
The password is NOT the same like the one by the former maxon Support Desk in use until 15th October 2018. You have to sign up again once and get a new password by the Support Center then. - Remark 2:
If you want to log-in the first time, you have to register (= sign up) your new account unless you have already processed a Support Center ticket in the past.
- If you have already registered or processed a support ticket before but do not know the password, click the "Forget my Password" link.
- If you log-in the first time and your e-mail address was not in use by the Support Center before, click the "Sign up" link.
- If you have already registered or processed a support ticket before but do not know the password, click the "Forget my Password" link.

If you use this log-in method, it is unique for maxon Support Center.

If you have a personal Microsoft account using the same e-mail address (e.g. due to your private or company's registration of your Microsoft Windows installation), it is possible to log-in the Support Center by this Microsoft account using the "Sign in with Microsoft" button. - You must use the same e-mail address and password if you use the "Sign in with Microsoft" button like valid for your Microsoft registration (e.g. during Windows installation).
- If you have logged in once before on the same PC in the Support Center by "Sign in , your account information will be remembered and offered for quick selection:
- If you select your offered account (= e-mail address), there will be no need to enter the password again in most cases as long as the same PC is in use and the password of your Microsoft account has not been changed in the meanwhile.
- "Sign in with Microsoft" versus the specific Support Center log-in
It is possible to log-in using the same e-mail address by "Sign in with Microsoft" and the specific log-in just valid for maxon's Support Center. The log-in procedure and the passwords are different for both log-in methods.
- The "Sign in with Microsoft" method is linked to the account information hosted by Microsoft which is also valid for your PC's Wiindows log-in. It is synchronized automatically if you update the Microsoft password. This might me more convenient if you do not want to deal with too many different passwords for different applications.
- If you use the Support Center's personal log-in by the "e-mail" and "Password" fields, you can configure your unique password by your Support Center profile settings. This password is not linked with any other account or software using the same e-mail address for log-in. It can just be used by teh maxon Support Center.
- The "Sign in with Microsoft" method is linked to the account information hosted by Microsoft which is also valid for your PC's Wiindows log-in. It is synchronized automatically if you update the Microsoft password. This might me more convenient if you do not want to deal with too many different passwords for different applications.
