Topic:
How to import / download the parameters of a *.mxpj project file to a MAXPOS controller?
Solution:
The "MAXPOS Studio" software is based on a project structure to manage system and drive parameter settings. There are three steps required to download the parameter settings of a *.mxpj project file to a MAXPOS controller:
-
Startup of MAXPOS Studio
If MAXPOS Studio starts up, there are no parameters defined by the project initially.
There is also no selection of “MAXPOS 50/5” branches “Firmware” or “Axis" present.
Important:
MAXPOS Studio 1.4 (or higher) must be installed!
Please check the version number in the headline of MAXPOS Studio.
If you have an older software version than 1.4, please download the latest MAXPOS Studio by the maxon website (e.g. http://maxpos.maxongroup.com) and replace your former MAXPOS Studio installation. -
Assign the parameters of a *.mxpj file to a "MAXPOS Studio" project
- Select the "Start" tab and click the "Assign" icon.
- Browse for the *.mxpj project file
from which you like to import the MAXPOS configuration parameters. - Assign the "MAXPOS 50/5" parameters of the file to the "MAXPOS Studio" project.
Select / mark the "Parameters" branch underneath the "MAXPOS 50/5".
Press the "Assign >>" button.
The "MAXPOS 50/5" (general) parameters of the *.mxpj file are copied to the "MAXPOS Studio" project (i.e. the parameters which are not depending on the motor combination). - Assign the "Axis" parameters of the file to the "MAXPOS Studio" project.
Select / mark the "Parameters" branch of the "Axis" section.
Press the "Assign >>" button.
The "Axis" parameters of the *.mxpj file are copied to the "MAXPOS Studio" project
(i.e. all parameters related to the motor, encoder, gear, motion data and limits, ...). - Press "Close" to exit the window.
The general and axis parameters of the *.mxpj file have been copied into the "MAXPOS Studio" project now.
- Select the "Start" tab and click the "Assign" icon.
-
Download "MAXPOS Studio's" project parameters to the "MAXPOS" controller.
- Click on the "Download" icon.
- Press "Start" to download the parameters
from the "MAXPOS Studio" project to the "MAXPOS" controller.
- Click on the "Download" icon.
