How to export the parameters and configuration information of an EPOS4, EPOS2, or EPOS?
Situation:
If you want to ...
-
... copy the configuration of an EPOS4 (or EPOS2, EPOS) to another one,
-
... save the configuration as part of your machine's or system's documentation,
-
... provide the configuration file as part of information required by support,
this can be done easily by the "Parameter Export/Import" feature of EPOS Studio.
Solution:
The "Parameter Export/Import" wizard exports the so-called *.dcf configuration file of the controller and can also import this file again to another controller if this is required.
The *.dcf configuration file holds a lot of information in case of a request for support. There is information about the concrete controller, the firmware version, and the actual values of all parameters present in this file. It is quite more efficient and provides a more comprehensive view to export the file instead of writing down or making screenshots of configuration settings.
The *.dcf file is a perfect solution to be in use as part of a machine's or system's documentation and helps a lot in case of a request for support.
Please execute the following steps to export the *.dcf configuration file:
- Open up "EPOS Studio".
- Open the section "Communication".
- Establish the connection with your EPOS4 (or EPOS2, EPOS).
- Right-clicking on your EPOS4 (or EPOS2, EPOS).
- Click on "Wizards" and on "Parameter Export/Import" then.
- Click on the "Export Parameters to File" button
and select the directory and path by the file dialog then
There is also a maxon video tutorial available about the export / import of EPOS configuration files:
